Dr. Bannon with "Tiberius", a lion at a wildlife rescue center in southern California. Dr. Bannon was part of a volunteer team of veterinary dentists that helped treat his infected and damaged teeth.

 

Dr. Bannon’s Background 

Dr. Kris Bannon has now earned the distinction of being the first and only Board-certified Veterinary Dentist and the first FAVD in the state of New Mexico.

 

Kris Bannon, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC has been providing veterinary care to companion animals in Santa Fe, New Mexico for 10 plus years. She made an important decision regarding the care of our furry friends and in 2005 began focusing her practice to veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. She currently provides routine and advanced dental services and oral surgery to animals in New Mexico, and Southern Colorado.  Most cases are by referral. Click here for detailed background info.

 

About the Practice

Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of New Mexico, LLC is the first veterinary practice dedicated only to dentistry and oral surgery in the state of New Mexico. For a list of the advanced dental services provided, please click here. 

For Parents of the Patients

  • If you have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Bannon or would like to make an appointment, please go to the Referral Forms and Information page. You will find information on how to plan for your appointment and a form you can complete in advance.

For Veterinarians

  • To refer patients, please complete this form and fax to 800-646-9352. You can find more information about referring your patients on the Referral Forms and Information page.

  • To schedule a visit with Dr. Bannon and her staff, you may contact us here to arrange the visit.
  • To have dental training for you and your staff at your clinic, click here to see our training opportunities. We have a variety of programs available, which can be tailored to the specific needs and level of your own practice.
  • If you and/or your staff would like to attend a dental training session provided by Dr. Bannon at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center of Santa Fe, see our Continuing Education information. Please call or email us to register for a class.
  • Dr. Bannon is happy to provide phone consultations for veterinarians with questions about specific cases or patients, even while the patient is under anesthesia. This is provided at no-charge and performed as time and availability permit. Please call 505-471-0747 for more information.

Two Locations

Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of New Mexico, LLC, has two locations for our pet owners’ and referring veterinarians’ convenience.

We can be found most frequently at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center of Santa Fe, 2001 Vivigen Way in Santa Fe. 

On Fridays, we are available at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center of New Mexico at 4000 Montgomery Blvd in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
